Dallas Sidekicks News Release
TULSA, OK - Carlos Videla and Shaun David each scored a hat trick as the Dallas Sidekicks rolled past the Tulsa Revolution 14-5 at the Cox Business Center in the team's first road match of the season on Saturday night. The Sidekicks have now won three straight matches and hold the second spot in the Southern Division.
A swift shot into the upper corner of the net from Dallas' leading scorer Jamie Lovegrove kicked off the night, followed by a blast from Freddy Moojen and an expert shot through the legs of Tulsa's goalkeeper by Cody Ellis. 90 seconds later Sidekicks forward Videla added a goal of his own, followed by Tulsa's first tally of the night from Michael Ponys.
Going into the second quarter up 4-1, the Sidekicks wasted no time building their lead, David getting his fourth of the season. The next minute was a barrage of goals as Lovegrove, Tulsa's Bryant Scrapper and Videla each saw the back of the net in just a 60 second span. Videla completed his first hat trick of the season thanks to a two-on-one opportunity with Lovegrove, and the Sidekicks followed up with goals from Cameron Brown and Fabinho to carry a 10-2 lead into halftime.
The two teams traded goals in the third quarter, David scoring twice to net the second Sidekicks hat trick of the match. The fourth quarter was all Dallas, Moojen adding to the tally and 19-year-old Gustavo Piedra scoring his first goal for the team and cementing a 14-5 Sidekicks win.
Tonight the Sidekicks will head up to Wichita (1-3), where they will face the B-52s on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. The two teams have already met once this season, a back-and-forth brawl that saw more than 40 penalty minutes and the Sidekicks slide out on top 6-7. The team is back at Allen Event Center on Saturday, Dec. 6 when they host the Hidalgo La Fiera at 7 p.m. It is Parade of Teams night, where all youth soccer organizations are invited to walk the field during halftime.
