Wave Wins Big in Detroit
November 22, 2014 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Milwaukee Wave News Release
After dropping a game to the defending MISL champion Missouri Comets last week, your Six-Time Champion Milwaukee Wave returned to their winning ways Saturday night defeating the Detroit Waza Flo at Melvindale Arena 4-0.
"I thought we played very well," said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "We're happy with the result but Detroit didn't make it easy."
Forward #10 Luan Sales Oliveira led the way for the MKE Wave with two goals, Pius High School Alum, #3 Philip Surprise contributed one and rookie #24 Amilcar Herrera, Riverside University High School alum, scored his first MKE Wave / Major Arena Soccer League goal. Meanwhile on the defensive side, goalkeeper #1 Marcel Feenstra suffered an injury 5 minutes into the third quarter and did not return.
"Trainers are still assessing Feenstra's injury but it looks like he could be out for the next few games," said Oliviero. "It's an unfortunate loss but we wish Marcel a speedy recovery."
The MKE Wave are on the road for a Thanksgiving weekend double-header, facing the St. Louis Ambush, Friday, November 28th at 7:35pm CT, then the defending PASL champion Chicago Mustangs, Saturday, November 30th at 7pm.
