Fury Offense Goes Cold in Syracuse

November 22, 2014 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Ontario Fury News Release

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, had their offense go as cold as the temperature in New York state Friday night, as they were outscored 9-1 by the Syracuse Silver Knights, and lost the game 18-2 under the Multi-Point Scoring system.

The Multi-Point Scoring system is used by four teams in the Eastern Division, and calls for all goals to be scored as two points, with long distance shots counting as three points.

The action got under way quickly as the Silver Knights scored 24 seconds into the game, as Kenardo Flores blasted a shot from high in the slot. The goal started a four-goal output in the first quarter for Syracuse, giving the Silver Knights an 8-0 lead.

The Fury scored their only goal of the game in the second quarter, as a failed defensive clearance got behind Silver Knights' goalkeeper Bryan O'Quinn. The own goal, which was credited to Christian Saray, cut the deficit to 8-2 at the half.

But it was all Syracuse from there, as the Fury were limited to only 14 shots on goal in the game.

Israel Sesay made unfortunate team history in the game as he received a red card in the third quarter after getting called for a foul. The red card is the first issued in the team's history, and it came nearly a year to the date that the Fury earned its first yellow card - also received by Sesay.

The one-goal output is also the lowest scoring total by the Fury in a single game in their history.

Ontario has little time to hang their heads, as they make the trip to Rochester for a game against the 1-0 Lancers (1-0) tomorrow evening at 4:05 p.m. PST. The game will be broadcast on GoLiveSportsCast.com

Tickets for the next Fury home game - Dec. 7 vs. the Turlock Express - and season packages are still available through the Fury's offices. For information, call the Fury at 909-457-0252.
