Brownsville, Texas - Hidalgo La Fiera ended the season opening road trip by defeating the Brownsville Barracudas by a final score of 6-3 at the Estadio Barracudas on Saturday night. .
Hidalgo (2-1) got on the board in the first quarter when Angel Sanchez scored the opening goal giving them a 1-0 lead with helper coming from Juan Jalomo. Brownsville tied the game at one when Luis Roberto Puga scored on a pass from Francisco Saucedo.
Brownsville (1-3) took an early 2-1 when Oscar Ventura scored an unassisted tally. La Fiera scored Hidalgo tied the game at two before the break when Robson De Souza scored.
In the third quarter La Fiera grabbed a two goal cushion when Jorge Quiroz and Jorge Duran made it 4-2. The Barracudas made it a one goal game when Miguel Davila made it a 4-3 game.
Hidalgo would two insurance goals in the fourth quarter when Robson De Souza and Victor Sanchez scored making it a 6-3 final. Juan Antonio Vargas had the assists for each goal.
Juan Gamboa (2-1) earned the win for Hidalgo while making 15 saves in victory.
Hidalgo La Fiera will have their first regular season home game on Sunday November 23rd at State Farm Arena versus Monterrey Flash with the kickoff set for 3:05 pm.
