
Hidalgo La Fiera Open Home Season With Loss

HIDALGO, Texas - Hidalgo La Fiera started the home portion of their schedule with a loss to the Monterrey Flash by a final score of 11-2 on Sunday evening at the State Farm Arena.
The loss snapped a 9-game winning dating back to the 2013-2014 season as La Fiera would lose at home.
Hidalgo (2-2) got on the board in the first quarter when Juan Jalomo scored the opening goal giving them a 1-0 lead.
Monterrey Flash (5-0) responded with two goals in the first quarter when Lourenco Andrade scored twice to tie the game at 2.
In the second quarter, the Flash would add three goals giving them a 5-2 lead at the break.
Monterrey would add six goals in the second half propelling them to the 11-2 victory over Hidalgo La Fiera.
Brownsville native, Juan Gamboa (2-2) took the loss for La Fiera while making 10 saves.
Hidalgo La Fiera will have another home match against Oxford City of Texas on Sunday, November 30 at State Farm Arena with the kickoff set for 3:00 PM.
Hidalgo La Fiera are members of the Major Arena Soccer League with 23 teams located across the United States and Mexico.
