Hidalgo La Fiera Needs Late Goals For Road Victory

SALTILLO, Mexico - Hidalgo La Fiera needed a pair of last minute goals to defeat Rancho Seco Saltillo 11-10 on Friday night at the Unidad Deportivo Rancho Seco Saltillo.

Hidalgo (4-3) scored first within the first two minutes of kickoff, but it was only the start of a match that featured 21 goals.

Saltillo (0-5) would earn the lead in the first quarter by scoring twice giving them a brief 2-1 lead. But then La Fiera would draw even at two goals just minutes later. The first quarter ended up tied at three goals apiece.

The second quarter would be much of the same back and forth as each team traded a pair pf goals to make it a five all game at the break.

In third quarter, Hidalgo got some separation as they pulled ahead 7-6 which set up a frantic fourth quarter.

La Fiera scored the first goal of the fourth quarter within the first minute giving them an 8-6 lead. Saltillo would then blitz back with three goals taking a 9-8 over Hidalgo. La Fiera would draw level again at 9 apiece to set up the last two minutes of action.

Rancho Seco would score a goal in the last two minutes giving them a 10-9 lead but then Hidalgo drew a foul which gave them a chance at power play. Hidalgo would score twice in the last minute including a power play goal that tied at ten to give them the 11-10 victory.

The home game schedule for December 14th against Oxford City of Texas has been rescheduled at a time to be determined due to Oxford City's travel arrangements. The game will still be played at State Farm Arena.

The next home game for Hidalgo La Fiera will be on Sunday, December 21st as they will host the Dallas Sidekicks at State Farm Arena with the kickoff at 3:05 pm .

Hidalgo La Fiera are members of the Southern Division of the Major Arena Soccer League with 23 teams located across the United States and Mexico.
