(WINDSOR, ONTARIO) You couldn't have wrote a script much better than this one.
On a historic night in downtown Windsor, the Express tackled their 401 rivals, the London Lightning 86-78 in the "Clash At The Colosseum" inside Caesars Windsor.
In front of one of the largest crowds the Express have hosted, Windsor (20-7) pulled away from the Lightning (18-7) early and fought off a late comeback to take over first place in the NBL's Central Division.
The Express smashed London in the first half, taking a 52-31 lead into the break, but the Lightning stormed back, outscoring Windsor 25-13 in the third quarter and cutting the lead to as little as two.
Stefan Bonneau and Quinnel Brown each had 21 points in Windsor's victory, their sixth straight, while snapping London's four game victory pace.
Kevin Loiselle had a game high 14 rebounds and Darren Duncan - who played a spirited game throughout - led with eight assists.
London's Tony Bennett had s gsme high 23 points.
Things don't get any easier for Windsor as they host the Brampton A's on Saturday, January 18th at 7:00pm at the WFCU Centre.
Brampton is 18-7 on the year and one game back of Windsor for top spot in the Central.
