Saint John Riptide News Release

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats are entering a big stretch of games starting tonight at Harbour Station against their division rival, the Island Storm at 7:00 PM. On Friday, the Mill Rats head to P.E.I. to face the Storm again, before returning to Harbour Station on Sunday, at 4:00 PM, to host the two-time defending NBL Canada Champions: the London Lightning.

"This week will be a measuring stick for us to see where we really stand against the best teams in our league," said Mill Rats Head Coach Rob Spon. "Our guys are ready to and I'm confident we will go out this weekend and play our best basketball." Single game tickets can be purchased here: http://www.harbourstation.ca/.

The Island Storm, who made it to the NBL Canada Finals last season, have an 11-12 record and are looking to reestablish themselves in a position to win the Atlantic Division.

SUNDAY'S GAME

Sunday's game against the London Lightning at 4PM will be preceded by a Saint John area Middle School Tournament. The tournament begins at 7:30AM with the championship at 12:15PM. Tickets purchased for the Middle School Tournament are valid for the Mill Rats game in the afternoon.

The participating teams are: Bayside Middle School, Ecole Millidgeville North, Forest Hills, and Sussex.

"This is a huge opportunity for the boys to be able to play on such a big stage as Harbour Station. A great big thanks to the Mill Rats organization for again giving back to our youth once again" said Bayside Middle School Head Coach Bill Joudry.

Mill Rats forward Tyrone Levett added: "It's great to be a part of something like this. I remember a similar event when I was a kid. These opportunities can really have an impact on a kid's aspirations and dreams of playing in the big leagues someday."
