December 20, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Victoria Royals News Release
Victoria, B.C. - The Victoria Royals announced the team would be implementing new COVID-19 protocols in adherence with the B.C. provincial guidelines.
Effective today, Save-on-Foods-Memorial Centre (SOFMC) will be operating at 50% capacity in an effort to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
GM and Head Coach Dan Price expressed his gratitude towards fans and thanked them for their continuous support.
"Our fans are incredibly important to us, and we've loved having them at the arena these past few months. As much as we want to play in front of our fans, we understand that these new restrictions are important for the health and safety of our fans, players and staff," Price said. "We feel lucky that we can still play in front of a half capacity crowd and look forward to the day we can once again operate at full capacity."
SOFMC will continue to implement all other health and safety protocols as listed by the government, including vaccine mandates in which all guests over 12 years of age are required to show proof of their vaccination QR code along with valid photo ID. Fans over the age of five must wear a mask at all times except when eating and drinking while seated.
All games remain as scheduled. For ticketing information, visit the Victoria Royals ticketing page or call the Select Your Ticket box office at 250-220-7777.
The Royals now have a week off for Christmas break and return on December 27th to play Vancouver in Langley. The next home games for the team are also against Vancouver on the 29th and 30th of December. December 29th is Way Back Wednesday presented by Molson where the Royals take fans back to the 80's followed by Realtor Charlsey Macgregor's Royals Go Green game presented by Dunder Mifflin on the 30th.
The Royals are also offering two holiday ticket packages for fans this season. Buy four vouchers for $70 or six for $100 and receive a special Royals gift. This offer is valid until December 31, 2021.
