
Victoria Explodes on Offense to Take Game Two from Sweets

VICTORIA, B.C.- The Walla Walla Sweets (23-21) were beaten 13-2 by the Victoria HarbourCats (33-11) on Wednesday night. The Sweets are now 5-10 in game two's this season,
The HarbourCats got out in front early with a run in the first, but it was countered by the Sweets with a couple of runs in the top of the second. Hayden Duer (Cal State Monterey Bay) knocked in the first with an RBI double and he scored on Coby Kauhaahaa's (Cal State Fullerton) RBI single. That made it 2-1 Sweets.
From there, it was all HarbourCats. They scored six in the third, highlighted by a three-run home run, to knock out started Easton Lucas (Pepperdine). He gave up a season high seven runs in a season low three innings pitched.
Victoria then scored two in the fourth and one run every inning from the fifth through the eighth. The number one offense in the West Coast League, in terms of batting average, banged out 18 hits in the win.
The two will match-up tomorrow for game three of the series at 1:05 P.M. at Royal Athletic Park. The Sweets will send Chris Murphy (San Diego) to the hill for game three.
