April 20, 2010 - Northern League (NL)
Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
Add another familiar name to the Goldeyes roster.
Manager Rick Forney announced today the signing of outfielder Kevin West. There are now 25 players on the Winnipeg roster, of whom 13 are position players.
West, 30, returns after spending the spring with the Reds. A career .278 hitter in 11 seasons with 164 home runs and 729 runs batted in, he has been even better with the Goldeyes, batting .300 in 188 games with 37 home runs while driving in 140 runs.
As the Goldeyes said hello to West, they bid good-bye to outfielder Carlos Sosa, whose rights were traded to St. George of the Golden League in exchange for cash and a player to be named later.
Training camp opens May 4 at Canwest Park.
