JOLIET, IL- Jammer joined the Cool Joliet Coalition as they celebrated being named the 50th "Cool City" in Illinois today at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park. Along with Jammer, many came out in celebration of the great honor bestowed upon Joliet, Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson, Senator A.J. Wilhelmi, Will County Executive Larry Walsh, and Joliet Township Supervisor Dan Vera, as well as City of Joliet Councilman Tim Brophy spoke at today's ceremony. The event was also platform for green initiatives being coordinated throughout the Joliet and Will County area.
On March 1, 2010 Joliet signed the U.S. Council of Mayors Climate Protection Agreement and was officially designated the 50th "Cool City" in Illinois. The Cool Joliet Coalition is a group that works to encourage the actions that promote a healthy environment.
