Burlington, VT- Vermont liked the way scoring six runs on seven hits in the eighth inning felt Tuesday afternoon at Tri-City, they decided to keep hitting on Wednesday night.

The Expos scored five times in the bottom of the first inning, got five RBI from Brad Ditter and six shutout innings from starter Jon Felfoldi in an 11-1 victory over the Williamsport Crosscutters in New York-Penn League action Wednesday night at Centennial Field.

Doug Vroman led off the Expos bottom of the first inning with his sixth home run of the season and second leadoff homer in three games. Vermont also got an RBI single from Lorvin Louisa, a two-run single from Ditter and RBI double from Brandon Conway off Crosscutter starter Matt Guillory (4-3) in the five-run first inning.

Ditter added an RBI groundout in the third, RBI single in the fourth and another RBI single in the sixth for his five RBI night. It was the most RBI for an Expos player since Matt Brown had five RBI vs. Uitca on August 21, 2001.

Felfoldi (2-3) gave up just a two-out single in the fourth and leadoff single in the fifth, while walking two and striking out eight in his six innings for the win. Eddie Diaz tossed a scoreless inning and Brett Campbell allowed a solo home run to Tim Brown in the ninth in his two innings of work.

Steve Mortimer was 3-for-4 with two runs, while Lorvin Louisa was 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI for Vermont (21-23). Marvin Lowrance was 2-for-5 with 2 RBI as the Expos pounded out 15 hits in the game, the first time Vermont has had at least 15 hits in a game at Centennial Field since 18 vs. Mahoning Valley on August 22, 2000.

Vermont and Williamsport will play game two of the three-game series on Thursday night. Aaron Wideman will get the start for the Expos, his first appearance since July 11th, but is expected to go just one inning. Newcomer Clyde Jenkins is scheduled to take over for Wideman after his inning of work. The series concludes on Friday night as the Expos celebrate Champ's Brithday with a Hawaiian Beach Bash.
