Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades President/GM Craig Brush announced today that the rights to defenseman Remi Royer have been traded to the Reading Royals (ECHL) in exchange for defenseman Jim Verdule. Verdule has seen action in 20 games this season in Reading and has registered 1 goal and 2 assists including 81 penalty minutes. The Montreal, Quebec native has also picked up 7 major penalties this season. Royer saw action in 2 games while in Florida this season on November 15th and 16th while on loan from the Houston Aeros (AHL) and registered 1 assist.
"We are excited to bring in Jimmy who is a tough, solid defenseman, he'll add an immediate presence on our blueline." added Everblades Head Coach Gerry Fleming.
The Everblades travel to Columbia, SC to take on the Inferno on Friday night at 7:05 PM. Florida then takes on the Greenville Grrrowl on Saturday at 7:05 PM and Sunday at 3:05 PM in Greenville.
