
Veilleux's Standout Play Earns Callup to AHL's St. John's IceCaps

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO -The Brampton Beast, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens, are proud to announce that Yannick Veilleux's dynamic play has earned him a callup to the the AHL's St. John IceCaps.
The 23-year-old has been one of the Beast's most reliable on-ice performers thus far this ECHL season. He has tallied three goals and and eight assists for 11 points in 11 games, playing a game that blends speed, skill and true grit. In addition to being one of the top scorers on the Beast roster, his 31 penalty minutes has him tied for the team lead.
One of the highlights of his strong 2016-17 campaign to date is a seven-game point streak from October 22-November 12 that saw him collect three goals and seven assists for 10 points.
This will not be Veilleux's first stint in the AHL. He has a total of 148 games in this minor professional league - 140 for the Chicago Wolves and eight for the Peoria Rivermen. He has recorded 19 goals, 21 assists and 167 penalty minutes in these contests.
