The Burketon, Ontario native has warranted this opportunity because of his sizzling start to the 2016-17 ECHL season. He has produced at nearly a point-a-game clip thus far with three goals and seven assists for 10 points in 11 games. His great numbers are a product of his aggressive play in the offensive zone as he leads all Beast forwards with 37 shots.
This assignment to the Comets is not Pither's first stint in the AHL. The 27-year-old has suited up for a total of 136 AHL contests in his professional hockey career for four different teams prior to this season. He has scored a total of 17 goals and netted 34 assists for 51 points in games played for the Adirondack Phantoms, Charlotte Checkers, St. John IceCaps and Syracuse Crunch.
Pither played his 137th AHL game on Wednesday night during the Comets' home game against the Hershey Bears. He had one shot on goal and an even plus-minus rating in the game as the Comets lost to the Bears 4-2.
