
Vegas tops Idaho, 6-3

Las Vegas, Nev.-The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Idaho Steelheads on Saturday night in front of 5,027 at the Orleans Arena. Michael Ouzas earned his ninth win of the season knocking off Idaho in back-to-back nights. Tyler Mosienko was named the first star in back-to-back games against Idaho compiling three goals and three assists. Idaho goaltender Jase Weslosky earned his first loss of the season in only his second game played. The Wranglers tallied twice on their eight power play opportunities while holding Idaho to 1 for 3. Six different players tallied for Las Vegas in the win, Bates, Riley, Mosienko, Switzer, Huddy, and Bertram. For Idaho, Derlago, Purves, and Monast all found the back of the net. The Wranglers continue on their eight-game points streak and improve to 13-4-2 as Idaho now rolls on a two-game losing skid and falls to11-7-5 overall.
For the third straight game the Wranglers scored the first three goals of the game forcing Idaho into costly penalties. Jamie Bates' power play goal at 4:46 of the first period assisted by Barry Goers and Tyler Mosienko was the first of six for Las Vegas, but the loan goal in the first frame.
At 1:39 of the second period Blair Riley found the back of the net assisted by Kevin Schaeffer and Matt Price. Tyler Mosienko drove the lead to three for Las Vegas at 6:54 assisted by Jamie Bates and Ryan Huddy. Idaho cut into the lead with a power play goal from Mark Derlago at 7:24 of the second period assists going to Kael Mouillierat and Mike Gabinet. Las Vegas answered back at 11:35 when Craig Switzer's slap shot beat Jase Weslosky assisted by Tyler Mosienko. After two periods Las Vegas was up 4-2.
Idaho struck first in the third period when Guillaume Monast beat Michael Ouzas at 3:30 assisted by Marty Flichel. Las Vegas netted the final two goals of the game. Ryan Huddy tallied at10:46 assisted by Barry Goers and Dan Bertram's empty net goal at 19:03 assisted by the goaltender Michael Ouzas lifted Las Vegas to another win.
