Ontario Reign News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, lost 4-1 to the Bakersfield Condors in Bakersfield on Saturday.
James McEwan and Erick Lizon set the tone of the game as the pair dropped the gloves just 19 seconds into the first period. The teams combined for three fights and forty penalty minutes in the first frame. After Vyacheslav Trukho put the Condors up 1-0, Aaron Lewadniuk tied it on the power play. Lewadniuk fought off several Condors as he powered his way to the slot and fired a shot past Josh Tordjman for his seventh goal of the season. Erik Burgdoerfer put Bakersfield ahead 2-1 at 15:39 with a slap shot from the point through traffic.
The game remained 2-1 until midway through the second when Stephane Goulet and Trukho scored goals 18 seconds apart to extend the Bakersfield lead to 4-1.
Neither team provided any offense in the third period, and the Condors prevailed 4-1 over the Reign. Kellen Briggs saved 37 in the loss, while Tordjman made 22 saves in the win.
