BROOKLYN, NY - Nic Gaddis, Jeremy Vasquez, and Zach Ashford each drove in big runs as the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, toppled the Wilmington Blue Rocks 8-3 Saturday night at Maimonides Park to win their fifth straight game.

In the bottom of the third, Jeremy Vasquez emptied the bases, yanking a three-run double down the right field line to extend Brooklyn's advantage to 6-1.

Leading 1-0 in the second inning, Brooklyn's Nick Gaddis demolished a two-run home run off the left field scoreboard to push the lead to 3-0.

Cyclones arms Alec Kisena and Mitch Ragan, Wilmington to one unearned run on two hits over the first eight innings. Wilmington's Justin Connell turned around Bryce Montes de Oca's 99 mph fastball, hitting a two-run shot in the ninth to make it 8-3.

NEWS AND NOTES

The Cyclones are in the midst of a season-long five-game winning streak and would sweep a six-game series for the first time this season.

Jeremy Vasquez reached base four times Saturday night, extending his hitting streak to six games, hitting 8-19 (.421).

Alec Kisena tossed a season-high 98 pitches over 4 2/3 innings Saturday, entering the fifth inning with 86 pitches.

Mitch Ragan retired all 10 batters that he faced, compiling his best outing of the season and his longest at 3 1/3 frames.
