(Volcanoes Stadium - Keizer, OR) - A three-run home run off the bat of Salem-Keizer SS Ryan Cavan capped off a five-run inning that propelled the Volcanoes to a decisive 13-1 victory over the Vancouver Canadians on Tuesday night.
The Canadians struggled right out of the gate as RHP Ronny Morla lasted only 2.2IP while giving up five hits and seven earned runs. Morla (1-5) issued five walks before exiting the game moments after Cavan's 3rd home run of the season.
Vancouver broke the Salem-Keizer shutout bid in the top of the 6th inning when C Max Stassi doubled off the right field wall scoring RF Myrio Richard who had been hit by a RHP Wilber Bucardo pitch earlier in the inning.
Stassi is 3-for-5 (.600) with a double since his arrival back on Sunday night just days after signing with the Oakland Athletics as a 4th round selection out of Yuba City HS (CA).
