BURLINGTON, VT-The Tri-City ValleyCats clinched the first Stedler Division championship in their three-year history with a doubleheader sweep against the Vermont Expos at Centennial Field. The ValleyCats won game one 14-1 and 8-3 in game two. The ValleyCats have now scored 46 runs in their last three games and now have a ten game winning streak

The ValleyCats pounded 14 runs on 18 hits. The action started early in game one. The ValleyCats scored three runs in the first three innings and pounded out seven runs in the fifth inning.

Drew Sutton led the ValleyCats offensively by going 4-5 with four singles and two RBI's. Francisco Caraballo also pounded out three singles and drove in two runs in game one as well.

Ronnie Martinez fired six innings of one-run ball. Jeff Wigdahl came into the game and closed it out with a scoreless seventh inning.

In game two, the ValleyCats got to Expos starter Gabriel Sosa early. Two runs came into score in the first inning. Tri-City racked up four runs in the third inning to propel themselves to the doubleheader sweep.

Rodrigo Escobar got the start in game two and allowed one run over three innings pitched. The ValleyCats record is now 44-23 with the win. The ValleyCats are back in action tomorrow night against Vermont. Game time is set for 7:00 and coverage starts at 6:40 on AM 1160 WABY Mechanicville and AM 900 WUAM Saratoga Springs as well as on the Internet at sportsjuice.com.
