Valley Center Veteran to Throw out First Pitch Tonight

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts open a seven-game homestand tonight when they host the Fort Worth Cats on Tribute to Armed Forces Night.

Valley Center native Patrick Miller will be throwing out the first pitch for the scheduled 7:05 p.m. start.

Miller served during the 2003 invasion of Iraq where he was captured in battle, and became a POW for 22 days. Upon his release, Miller was awarded the Silver Star for valor, the third-highest military award for heroism in combat, and was later awarded a Purple Heart, Prisoner of War Medal, and a Combat Action Badge.

A slideshow honoring past and present members of the US Armed Forces will be shown both prior to and after the game.

Monday night is also the debut of "Dollar Days With the Wingnuts". General admission tickets cost just $1.00, with select food and concession items also costing only $1.00.
