Nichols, Singleton Earn Player Of The Week Awards

DURHAM, NC -The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has selected El Paso Diablos DH Kyle Nichols and Wichita Wingnuts RHP Nick Singleton as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.

Nichols batted .500 with three home runs, 13 RBIs and 10 runs scored. The Southport, FL resident collected 14 hits (six of which were extra base hits) along with an on-base percentage of .533 and a slugging percentage of .929. Nichols, 33, is tied for third in the American Association with five home runs and third overall in RBIs with 23.

Singleton collected two wins this past week. The Montgomery, AL resident tossed 14 1/3 innings allowing four earned runs, 10 hits while fanning 16 batters. For the season, Singleton has a perfect 5-0 record with a 3.00 ERA and 31 strikeouts. The 28-year-old leads the league in wins and strikeouts.
