Utah pulls away with win

Los Angeles, CA- Despite an early lead, the Los Angeles D-Fenders (15-27) fell short to the Utah Flash (23-20) Friday night at STAPLES Center, 128-107.

The D-Fenders finished the first quarter with a four point lead, 30-26. Los Angeles played tough defense, forcing Utah to commit six turnovers in the quarter, resulting in 11 points for the home team. Kosta Koufos led the Flash with nine points, while James Peters carried the D-Fenders with seven points at the close of the quarter.

Los Angeles was able to maintain their lead with a 61-57 advantage at the end of the second quarter. Utah's Koufos finished the half leading his team with 16 points and five rebounds. Dar Tucker carried the D-Fenders with 11 points and seven rebounds heading into the locker room.

The Flash charged back, bringing the score to a tie (71-71) with 7:15 left in the third. Utah proceeded to outscore the D-Fenders 35-24 in the third quarter, finishing the quarter 92-85.

Utah stretched their lead in the fourth quarter, outscoring their opponent 36-22 in the quarter. Greene also added 16 points in the final quarter, lifting the Flash over the D-Fenders 128-107.

Tucker carried the D-Fenders with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while teammate James Peters added 15 points and eight rebounds. Greene finished the game leading his team with 26 points. In addition, Utah's Kevin Kruger tallied 21 points, while Koufos added 20 points of his own.
