
Urlacher and West Earn All-af2 Honors

The arenafootball2 league announced the All-af2 Team for the league's American and National Conference. Pirates FB/LB Casey Urlacher was selected as First Team honoree and DS Frank West was selected a Second Team honoree.
Urlacher led the Pirates in rushing this season with 253 yards on 84 carries and 15 touchdowns. He set new Peoria Pirates franchise records with most yards and touchdowns in a single season and career. Additionally, Urlacher set a new af2 postseason record against Bakersfield last week with a total of 59 yards and a run of 30 yards to establish new records for most yardage in a single game and longest run from scrimmage. Urlacher has received Army Ironman of the Game honors in four different games and selected the ADT Defensive Player of the Game once.
Frank West returning to the Pirates this season after working on the Pirates coaching staff in 2003, led the Pirates in tackles and interceptions (59.5 and 8 respectfully). West is the current franchise leader in tackles with 149 tackles. West has been selected the ADT Defensive Player of the Game 5 times.
Other nominees not selected, were OL/DL Ken Bouie, WR/LB Lawrence Matthews, WR/DB Brandon Campbell, and FB/LB Tony Pryor.
The Pirates travel to Tulsa Oklahoma this weekend to take on the Tulsa Talons for the National Conference Championship game on Saturday August 21, 2004 at 7:30 at the Tulsa Convention Center.
