Hawaiian Islanders News Release

HONOLULU – The offices of arenafootball2 today announced the players on the all-af2 team and for the first time in franchise history, two players from the Hawaiian Islanders were named to the team.

Anthony Arceneaux, who tied an af2 record with three kickoff returns for a touchdown on May 28 against the San Diego Riptide, was named to the first team on special teams while kick Kimo Naehu was named to the second team.

The 25 af2 coaches voted in their respective conferences and could not select players from their own team.

Arceneaux established new franchise records for touchdowns (32 overall), points (194), all-purpose yards (2,014), kickoff returns for a touchdown (5) and kickoff return yard average (27.3). In addition, he owns single game records for most kick return yards (254), best kick return average (42.3), longest kick return (49) and most kick returns for a touchdown (3).

Naehu joined the Islanders midway through the 2002 season and owns the longest consecutive streak of games played (40). He owns virtually every Islanders kicking record including his team record 52 yard field goal against Quad City in 2002.

"It's a great accomplishment for Anthony and it means the coaches respect his talent," said Islanders head coach Cal Lee."
