San Diego Riptide News Release

SAN DIEGO - The Arenafootball2 League Office announced the selections for the 2004 All-af2 team today. San Diego's OL/DL Brad Greetis and WR/OS Dwight Carter were among the selections to the National Conference All-af2 team. Carter broke every receiving record in Riptide history and Greetis played phenomenal on all sides of the ball.

"It feels really special to be chosen with all the tough competition out there," said Carter. "We had a really good offense and it could have been anyone (that made the team). I made the most out of every opportunity I was given. It's definitely a compliment and I'm very excited about being chosen."

Carter broke every receiving record in the book this season. He came away with a total 104 receptions for 1,345 yards and 23 touchdowns, becoming the first Riptide player to break the 1,000 yard mark in receiving yards. Along with his standout season, he also beefed up his career numbers eclipsing the 150 reception mark by two, receiving for nearly 2000 yards and 32 touchdowns.

"It feels really awesome," said Greetis with a cheer in his voice. "I worked really hard this year and played in 80% of every game. The accomplishments and all that I've learned in the af2 will help me move up to the AFL someday."

Greetis played on a line that recorded five games without allowing a sack. He had a standout game in Week 16 against the Green Bay Blizzard when he came away with two solo tackles which included a sack and a forced fumble. He ended the season with 17.5 total tackles, two sacks, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, and a blocked kick. Greetis was also sixth on the team in all-purpose yards with 212.

Last year, two Riptide players were also selected to the All-af2 team. Jesus Reyes was selected on special teams for the National Conference first team while Kenny Haslip was selected as a Defensive Specialist for the National Conference All-af2 second team.
