Riptide Host Inaugural Camp Curtis Mini-Football Clinic on July 23rd

The San Diego Riptide will host the inaugural "Camp Curtis" on Saturday, July 23rd from 10am to 1pm at the ipayOne Center at the Sports Arena. Camp Curtis is named in honor of all-time af2 tackle leader Rico Curtis. Curtis spent four seasons with the ‘Tide before retiring earlier this year. His leadership and dedication helped him become an all-af2 selection in his first af2 season. A graduate of San Diego State University and Serra High school, Curtis conceptualized this football camp to give back to the community that has supported him through his football career. The three hour skills based mini-camp will include station and conditioning drills for children and parents. In addition to the skills camp, NFL Philadelphia Eagles all-pro lineman and Riptide Owner, Jon Runyan, as well as other NFL pros will give testimonials and answer questions. Date: Saturday, July 23, 2005 Time: 9:00am Registration 10:00am - 1:00pm clinic Place: ipayOne Center at the Sports Arena Special Guests: Jon Runyan, NFL Philadelphia Eagles Lonny Mitchell, NFL Vikings, NFL Europe Mikhael Ricks, NFL Cowboys, Lions, Cheifs, Chargers Darnay Scott, NFL Cowboys and Bengals Kassim Osgood, NFL Chargers Steve Papin, AFL, San Jose Sabercats and New York Dragons In addition to receiving limited edition merchandise and gifts, participants in Camp Curtis will take part in halftime activities during the Fan Appreciation Night, at that evening's game. Camp Curtis is the second football camp hosted by the San Diego Riptide this season. Cost for the camp is $30. Registration begins at 9:00AM and the camp will run through 1:00PM.
