Garman Grabs League-Wide Honor

MACON, Ga. – The League office of arenafootball2 announced the All-af2 First and Second Teams today. The Macon Knights were represented by Jamaal Garman who was a Second Team selection on special teams.

Garman (6-3, 220, Fort Valley State) returned to the Knights for his second season in af2 after spending two years with the Carolina Cobras of the Arena Football League. Garman broke the Knights single-season record for kickoff return yards with 1,150 yards and averaged 21.3 yards per return (54 returns) with three returns for touchdowns. He finished the season ranked eighth in the league in all purpose yards with 2,277 (142.3 per game).

Garman appeared in all 16 games for the Knights this season and led the team in receiving with 96 catches for 1,059 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also carried the ball four times for six yards and two touchdowns.

Garman proved to be a consistent receiver for the Knights even while switching roles throughout the season. After beginning the season as a two-way player, Garman assumed the role of offensive specialist for most of the year until moving back to wide receiver/defensive back at the end of the season. In the seven games Garman played on both sides of the ball, he recorded 11.5 tackles, three pass breakups and forced two fumbles.

The af2 selects a First and Second Team for both the American Conference and National Conference. For a full listing of the All-af2 teams visit www.maconknights.com or www.af2.com. 8/17 - All-af2 teams
8/18 - Coach of the Year
8/19 - Lineman of the Year
8/20 - Rookie of the Year and International Player of the Year
8/23 - Defensive Player of the Year
8/24 - Ironman of the Year
8/25 - Offensive Player of the Year
