Macon Knights News Release
MACON, Ga. - The Macon Knights Front Office announced today that they will be closing operations for the 2007 season. The Knights Organization knows this a painful decision and is very sorry to disappoint the loyal core group of fans and corporate partners. The Knights will hold a press conference this afternoon at 1:30 pm at Christ Chapel @ Sportstowne in arena 3 to answer any questions. Ed Olson President of the Macon Knights will be available at this time to answer questions about the team ceasing its operations.
The Macon Knights have been to the playoffs four of their six seasons and have a tradition of sending players to the Arena Football League. The Knights won the American Conference Championship in 2003 and lost the ArenaCup to the Tulsa Talons that same season.
Arena Football is a Fan Friendly sport where the fans meet the players and dance team after each game. Our players enjoyed meeting the fans and played football for the love of the game.
"We will miss the Contact with our fans, players, coaches and partners, but realize that closing the Macon Knights is necessary at this time" said Ed Olson President of the Macon Knights.
