Macon Knights News Release
MACON, Ga. - The Macon Knights Front Office announced today that the arenafootball2 league office assigned OL/DL Andre Slappey. Slappey has been with the Knights since the team's inaugural season.
Slappey is entering his sixth season for the Knights and his sixth in arenafootball2. Last season he played in 12 games and recorded 4.5 tackles, two pass breakups, and three quarterback hurries. Slappey also brings leadership to the Knights, as he is the only remaining player from the Knights ArenaCup championship game in 2003. Also, Slappey is the Knights All-Time Quarterback Sacks leader for a career with 14.0, and the Single Season Quarterback Sacks leader with 7.0.
Slappey is a fan favorite and has not only been a force on defense but has had a few chances to carry the ball. In his career, he has totaled 14 catches for 130 yards. The Knights look forward to the 6-5 315 pound Slappey to help carry the team back to the playoffs for a fifth time.
The Macon Knights 2006 Season kicks off Saturday, April 8th against the Albany Conquest. Don't miss the eight action-packed home games this season as the Knights try to bring the ArenaCup Championship to Macon. Season tickets are on sale now starting as low as $56.
