B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club is very pleased to announce that the University of Washington Huskies Marching Band will perform at Saturday's game versus the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Dating back 86 years, the Huskies Marching Band is one of North America's most renowned and celebrated marching bands and will bring its 240-member extravaganza to BC Place on Saturday afternoon with both a pre-game and halftime performance.
"It's hard to match the unique atmosphere that a world-class marching band brings to a football game and we're honoured to welcome the Huskies Marching Band to what's going to be one of our biggest games of the season," said Lions president and CEO Dennis Skulsky.
"The students and staff of the UW Husky Marching Band are thrilled to once again be returning to Vancouver to play for diehard Lions fans," said Dr. Brad McDavid, Director. "It's been several years since we last performed for the Lions and their fans and we are excited that our schedule finally has permitted us the opportunity to bring an exciting pregame and halftime show up for the big game!"
Outfitted in their traditional, hand-made gold lamé and dark purple uniforms, the Huskies Marching Band is one of just three PAC-12 bands who continue to use the physically-demanding high-step style of marching and have entertained fans around the world in addition to six appearances in the prestigious Rose Bowl Parade.
The next BC Lions home game is Saturday, October 3 at 4:00 pm versus the Saskatchewan Roughriders presented by Purolator Tackle Hunger and featuring the University of Washington Huskies Marching Band. In addition to single game tickets the BC Lions offer a flexible range of ticket products including the new Club Orange, Flex 10 Ticket Packs, 3-Game Packs, Group Tickets and Youth Football Group Tickets.
