Minnesota United FC News Release
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Thursday, December 4th, 2014) -- Minnesota United announced today that it has exercised options to extend the contracts of 13 players. Tiago Calvano, Pablo Campos, Justin Davis, Andrew Fontein, Mitch Hildebrandt, Greg Jordan, Brent Kallman, Brian Kallman, Tyler Polak, Christian Ramirez, Kevin Venegas, Juliano Vicentini, and Jamie Watson will all return for 2015 with United.
Hildebrandt had an impressive 2014 season in goal, stepping in near the end of the Spring Season as the starting goalkeeper. He made eight starts and posted two clean sheets. Andrew Fontein spent a majority of his time with the Minnesota United Reserves, but was brought on to the bench as a backup during Matt VanOekel's injury and again for Hildebrandt's suspension.
With these options, United will keep its entire defense from the 2014 season. The previous contract extension signed by Cristiano Dias will allow the successful defensive chemistry from the previous season to return for the 2015 campaign.
Jordan, Vicentini, and Watson will be joined by Miguel Ibarra, captain Aaron Pitchkolan, and Daniel Mendes in the midfield. Ibarra already had a multi-year deal, while Pitchkolan and Mendes both recently signed contract extensions.
Campos and Ramirez will continue adding to their to their impressive goal tallies with United as well. They have 34 goals combined in just two years with Minnesota.

Defenders: Tiago Calvano, Justin Davis, Cristiano Dias, Brent Kallman, Brian Kallman, Tyler Polak, Kevin Venegas
