Union Tie 2-2 against Montreal Impact

Chester, Pa. (June 27, 2015) - The Philadelphia Union tied the Montreal Impact 2-2 in PPL Park on Saturday night in a game that saw an immense amount of rain and had an equal amount of action. The game ended in a tie after both teams saw a player sent off and had many chances on goal. The Union opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a blast from Eric Ayuk. Montreal tied in the 28th minute with a goal from Ignacio Patti and the visitors then took the lead in the 70th minute with former Union player Jack McInerney scoring from just inside the 18 yard box. Captain Maurice Edu tied the game in the 75th minute, finding the back of the net from a rebound of off Fabinho's long distance shot. The Montreal Impact have never defeated the Union in PPL Park and with the tie, the Union have a record of 2-4-3 against the Canadian side. The Union return to action on Tuesday, June 30 to face D.C. United in the Round of 16 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in PPL Park at 7 p.m.

- Maurice Edu will be suspended after his next yellow card
