San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the 2015 California Clasico against the LA Galaxy tonight at Stanford Stadium is officially sold out. Stanford Stadium, the site of the annual summer duel since 2012, has had over 50,000 fans in attendance each of the past three years. The match, which is presented by PG&E, will be broadcast live on CSN California, in English on 1590 KLIV and in Spanish on 1370 KZSF.
In addition to the Clasico, fans will have another opportunity to watch the Quakes take on the Galaxy, as the clubs will face off in the Round of 16 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The match takes place at Avaya Stadium on Wednesday, July 1, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at sjearthquakes.com, at the Earthquakes' Front Office at 1123 Coleman Ave or by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.
To celebrate women's soccer as the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup is being played, the Quakes will have a special halftime show honoring important figures in professional women's soccer from the Bay Area and around the country at the match at Stanford Stadium. The halftime will also feature members of the United States National Team that won the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup. The U.S. defeated Brazil 2-0 in the semifinals of that tournament at Stanford Stadium.
The club will also honor members of each of the five branches of the United States Armed Forces as part of a grand Independence Day celebration. The Quakes donated over 4,000 tickets to troops and their families to attend the match. Members of the military will participate in the pregame rally tunnel as the players take the field.
Following the match, the Earthquakes will treat fans to the largest fireworks show in the Bay Area, courtesy of Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, Inc.
