
U.S. Shuts out Germany, 6-0, in World Juniors Prelim Game

MONTREAL - Brandon Halverson (Traverse City, Mich./Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds) stopped all 14 shots he faced, while Dylan Larkin (Waterford, Mich./University of Michigan) notched a pair of goals to lead the U.S. National Junior Team to a 6-0 victory over Germany in its second game of the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship.
"I thought we played a real good hockey game," said Mark Osiecki, head coach of the 2015 U.S. National Junior Team. "We were a bit sloppy in the first period, but came out in the second and third periods and played much better."
Team USA is back in action tomorrow (Dec. 29) against Slovakia. Puck drop is 4 p.m. ET, and the game can be seen live on NHL Network and NHL.com.
Notes: Team USA has won its opening two games in the IIHF World Junior Championship for the eighth time in eleven years ... Eleven different Team USA players notched a point in tonight's contest.
