Normal, IL - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, will welcome U of I Head Volleyball Coach, Kevin Hambly, to throw the first pitch of the game at the Corn Crib on Wednesday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m.
It will be University of Illinois night at the ballpark! The Fighting Illini flag will be flying high in the outfield and the University of Illinois alma mater will be played for the 7th inning stretch. Also, don't miss out on U of I trivia throughout the game!
Hambly is a Native of Simi Valley, Calif. and has been coaching for 15 years with 7 of those years being at the University of Illinois. Hamby led the Fighting Illini to new milestones last year as they finished the season 32-5 and took second place at the NCAA Championship. The team also swept a season series from the four-time defending NCAA champions Penn State for the first time in school history. Hambly was named Volleyball Magazine's National Coach of the Year for his achievements throughout this momentous season. Make sure to stop by and get an autograph from Coach Hambly on the concourse during the game!
The Normal CornBelters are set to play the Lake Erie Crushers at 6:30 p.m. For this game and every Wednesday game, the first 100 Meijer customers to present a Meijer receipt to the Corn Crib Box office will receive FREE Lawn Seat tickets to the game! One lucky fan will even receive a FREE $100 gift card courtesy of Meijer! The receipt must be from May-August 2012 and presented the day of the game only.
Also for Wednesdays game you can bring your furry friend to the ballpark! The dog with the best pet trick will win $100! There will also be a 50/50 raffle and thanks to Woith Insurance, you can't lose! With a raffle ticket purchase of $5 or more, your ticket will be insured for $2.50.
