Two Teams Riding a Seven Game Skid Meet Friday

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (2-7-0) travel to the Innovation Credit Union i-plex in Swift Current to take on the Broncos (2-5-2) at 7:00 p.m., on Friday.

The Pats enter tonight's contest riding a seven game losing-streak after they dropped both games of their home-and-home against the Saskatoon Blades last weekend. The Pats last contest was a 4-1 loss in Saskatoon on Sunday. The Blades opened things up in the second period with two unanswered goals, breaking a 1-1 tie. Cole Dubinsky scored the lone goal for the Pats, extending his goal-streak to three games and point-streak to eight games. Final shots were 28-26 for the Pats, while Regina went 8-for-9 on the penalty kill and 0-for-3 on the power play.

The Broncos come into play also riding a seven game losing-streak, going 0-5-2 since their 2-0 start to the season. Swift Current is coming off a 5-2 loss against the Calgary Hitmen on Friday, October 22nd. They got goals from Caleb Wyrostok and Josh Filmon in the third after they trailed 5-0 after two. The Broncos were outshot 38-20 in that hockey game and have now been outshot in eight of their nine games this season and are 0-2-2 since Head Coach and GM Dean Brockman stepped down on October 14.

The Broncos also had four players named to the NHL Central Scouting list, with Josh Davies being named a "B" level prospect and Reid Dyck, Owen Pickering and Mathew Ward listed as "C" level prospects.

The Regina Pats currently have the ninth youngest team in the WHL with an average age of 17.88...the only teams younger than the Pats in the Eastern Division are the Saskatoon Blades and Brandon Wheat Kings...the oldest club in the WHL is the Everett Silvertips with an average age of 18.29.

8: Number of points (1G-7A) for Regina Pats defenceman Ryker Evans is tied for sixth amongst defenceman in in the WHL, while his seven assists ranks tied for fifth...the Calgary, AB, native also ranks tied for second among defencemen in power play points with four.

7: Straight losses for the Regina Pats is the longest losing-streak since Febuary 23 - March 13 of the 2018-19 season, where they lost seven straight games...also lost nine straight games from November 21 - December 12 of the 2018-19 season.

8: Consecutive games with a point (3G-6A) for Pats forward Cole Dubinsky is the longest point-streak by a Pat' this season and longest of his career...he has also scored in three straight games, which is the longest by a Pat' this season.

2-4: Record for the Regina Pats when outshooting their opponent this season...they are the only WHL team with a below .500 record when outshooting opponents this season...they have outshot the opposition in four of their last five games.

45: Number of shots on goal for Regina Pats forward Connor Bedard leads the WHL...the Vancouver native is averaging 5 shots on net per contest this season and holds an 8.9% shooting percentage, along with with four goals and six points in nine games.
