TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
Tonight is the fourth stop on a five game, eight day road trip for the ICE that opened Saturday in Moose Jaw with a 5-4 victory over the Warriors. Winnipeg erased a 3-0 second period deficit thanks to a pair of goals from Matthew Savoie. The game winning goal came off the stick of Connor McClennon with 45 seconds remaining in regulation.
Tuesday, Skyler Bruce scored the game winning goal 1:48 into the third period to lead the ICE to a 3-1 win in Red Deer. Mikey Milne's power play goal and an empty netter by Connor McClennon, supported a 26 save performance by Gage Alexander.
Wednesday, Daniel Hauser made 27 saves and Conor Geekie broke a 2-2 tie with 3:54 remaining in regulation time to give the ICE a 3-2 victory in Calgary.
ICE VS OIL KINGS
Winnipeg and Edmonton will meet four times during the WHL regular season (Tonight @ Edm / Dec 8 @ Wpg / Dec 11 @ Wpg / Feb 21 @ Edm).
Overall, the ICE have lost their last nine straight and 12 of 13 games vs the Oil Kings. Their last win in Edmonton was 4-3 in overtime December 30, 2017.
WHL HISTORY
With their 11th win of the season Wednesday in Calgary, Winnipeg has won the most consecutive games to open a WHL season since 2006 eclipsing the previous mark set by the 2014-15 Kelowna Rockets and 2006-07 Vancouver Giants at 10 games.
They will look to tie the WHL record tonight of 12 games, currently held by the 1988-89 Swift Current Broncos. Swift Current won their first dozen games before losing in Saskatoon October 30, 1988.

Zach Benson, Matthew Savoie and Brayden Yager of Moose Jaw share the WHL lead for goals by a rookie with 6 goals.
Matthew Savoie also leads all WHL rookies with 10 assists, 16 points, a plus/minus rating of +12, 33 shots on goal and four power play goals.
Daniel Hauser and Nolan Maier of Saskatoon share the lead for WHL goaltenders with six wins.
