
Two Run Ninth Gives Greensboro Victory

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves were defeated 9-8 Thursday night by the Greensboro Grasshoppers before 2,069 fans.
Greensboro made it a 3-0 game in the second inning on a run scoring force out and a two out two run triple by Brent Keys. Rome bounced back with two runs in the bottom of the inning on a Will Skinner (8) two run homer making it a 3-2 game.
The Braves took a 4-3 lead with two runs in the sixth. Brandon Drury had a run scoring single and Kyle Kubitza added an RBI double. The lead didn't last long as the Grasshoppers pushed four runs across the plate in the seventh inning. Keys and Austin Barns each had two run singles giving Greensboro the 7-4 advantage.
The lead exchanged hands again in the bottom half of the seventh when the Braves scored four times on four hits to take the lead. Drury cleared the bases with a three run triple and Kubitza added a sacrifice fly RBI putting Rome on top 8-7. Greensboro grabbed the lead again in the top of the ninth with two runs thanks to a two run two out single by Josh Adams to give the Grasshoppers the victory.
Frank Reed (2-0) gets the win in relief for Greensboro and Rome's David Peterson(1-2) gets tagged with the loss.
