LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The BlueClaws were held to four hits- all of which came in the 6th inning- but they used those four hits to score two runs in a 2-1 victory over Kannapolis Thursday night.

The ballgame was Lakewood's 10th sellout of the season, and Alejandro Villalobos' two-run double was all the offense Lakewood needed to send the 8,000 in attendance at FirstEnergy Park home happy.

Kannapolis starter Jarrett Casey faced just one batter over the minimum through five innings when Kelly Dugan reached on an error by first baseman Leighton Pangilinan. But then Lakewood scored two runs on four hits in the 6th inning to erase a 1-0 deficit and take a 2-1 lead.

The BlueClaws have now allowed one run in the first two games of this series, outscoring Kannapolis 7-1 in the two wins. Overall, Lakewood's winning streak is now at three games as they remain 1.0 game out of first place in the South Atlantic League North but are now tied with Hagerstown for 3rd place in the division.

After taking the first two games, the BlueClaws host Kannapolis in the third game of the four-game series Friday evening. Lakewood will send Colin Kleven (6-8, 4.68) to the mound to battle Intimidators' lefty Matthew Lane (3-5, 5.48).

First pitch for Friday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
