Two-Out Hits Down Cleburne

GRAND PRAIRIE, Tex. - The Texas AirHogs scored four times with two outs to clip the Cleburne Railroaders 4-3 on Friday night at AirHogs Stadium. The AirHogs swept the series, winning all three games by one run.

Texas (18-52) struck first in the bottom of the first on an infield single from Jonathan Moroney, scoring Li Ning who led off the inning with a single of his own. Cleburne (41-29) evened things up on a solo home run from Angel Reyes in the fourth, and took the lead in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Daniel Robertson, but the AirHogs quickly answered. With two on and two out in the sixth, Yang Jin yanked a two-run triple into the right field corner to put Texas in front 3-2. Li Xuhong followed with a run-scoring single of his own to extend the lead to 4-2. Xuhong entered the game with two hits on the season, and finished the night 2-for-3.

Hunter Clanin pulled Cleburne back within 4-3 with a long solo home run to left in the eighth, but the next six Railroaders were retired to end the game.

Gan Quan (1-6) earned his first career win in 27 appearances for Texas, tossing a career-high eight strong innings with a career-high eight strikeouts. Carlos Contreras earned the save in his first appearance of the season for Texas.

Greyfer Eregua (3-2) took the loss for Cleburne, allowing eight hits and four runs in six frames with four strikeouts and one walk. Braden Pearson and Edward Cruz each worked a scoreless inning in relief.

The Railroaders return home to open a three-game series with the Sioux Falls Canaries on Saturday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:06 PM.
