Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, Alaska â The Anchorage Aces have announced that Jerry Mackie and Tim Woolston, co-owners of Anchorage-based public relations/advertising firm Northwest Strategies, Inc., have become part of the Aces' ownership group.
"The addition of Jerry and Tim to the management group is just another positive step in our long-term goal of consistently delivering a quality hockey product to Aces' fans throughout the state," said Aces' managing partner Terry Parks. "They bring an area of expertise to the organization that has been absent until now.
Northwest Strategies is one of the largest public relations/advertising firms in the state of Alaska. The company will take over a number of those duties in support of the Aces.
"This is an exciting time to join an organization that has tremendous potential," said Northwest Strategies co-owner Jerry Mackie. "We are committed to building a winning team and an organization the entire community can be proud of and support for years to come."
Northwest Strategies joins Xpress Lube/Dollar Rent-a-Car (Parks, Jeff Van Abel, and Dan Coffey), Subway of Alaska and the Valley (Steve Adams and Al Haynes), Anchorage Chrysler Dodge (Rod Udd) and Tesoro Sports Centre (Steve Agni) in the Anchorage Aces' ownership group.
"We think this town is eager to get behind a winning team, and we are thrilled to join a group of owners that has shown a commitment toward that goal," said Tim Woolston, president and co-owner of Northwest Strategies.
Anchorage wraps up its home schedule at Sullivan Arena this Friday and Saturday night against San Diego at 7:00 p.m. The Aces are 6-2-1 in their nine games under head coach Perry Florio and have moved into fifth place in the WCHL. Dean Larson, the all-time leading scorer in WCHL history and currently tied for the league lead in scoring with teammate Yvan Corbin this year, will be playing his final games in front of the Anchorage fans this weekend. All games are broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM and at www.anchorageaces.com, with Jack Michaels calling the play-by-play. Coverage begins 20 minutes prior to the opening face-off, presented by GCI.
