Two Knighthawks named All-Star reserves

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks defenseman Marshall Abrams and forward Shawn Williams were named East Division reserves for the 2006 All-Star Game, which will be played at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Saturday, February 25th at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

The East and West Division teams will each have 12 reserves, combined with the six starters that were previously announced, for a total of 18 players on each All-Star Team. East All-Stars head coach Ed Comeau (Rochester) and assistant coach Lindsay Sanderson (Philadelphia), and West All-Stars head coach Bob Hamley (Arizona) and assistant coach Chris Hall (Calgary) selected the first nine reserves for their respective divisions. The final three reserves for each division were appointed by the league.

Abrams will make his All-Star debut at the 2006 event. The Syracuse University product is in his sixth season in the NLL and fifth with the Knighthawks. This season, he has two assists and 11 penalty minutes in seven games. He is also tied for third on the team with 40 loose balls. The defenseman also plays with the Rochester Rattlers of major League Lacrosse.

Williams will make this third NLL All-Star appearance, having also played in the 2002 and 2005 games. The Scarborough, Ontario, native ranks second on the team with 37 points (11+26) in seven games. In 2004, he was a First Team All-Pro as he led Rochester with 45 goals and 81 points.
