Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - The National Lacrosse League announced Tuesday that Colorado Mammoth forward Dan Carey was named a reserve for the West Division All-Star team.

The 2006 NLL All-Star Game will be played at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Saturday, Feb. 25. The game will be broadcast on Altitude Sports & Entertainment at 4:30 p.m. Mountain time.

Carey, a 23-year-old rookie from Peterborough, Ontario, ranks second on the Mammoth with 21 assists and 29 points. The No. 7 overall pick in last summer's entry draft currently leads all NLL rookies in scoring.

"This is a tremendous honor for Dan and it is very well deserved," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "As one of just two rookies in the All-Star Game it really shows the kind of impact he's made on the league and our team."

Mammoth captain Gavin Prout and defenseman Jay Jalbert were named starters for the West All-Stars in an announcement on Monday.

Each All-Star team named 12 reserves on Tuesday in addition to the six starters that were previously announced. West All-Stars head coach Bob Hamley of Arizona and assistant coach Chris Hall of Calgary selected the first nine reserves and the final three were appointed by the league.
