Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

(Lakewood, NJ) Lakewood BlueClaws second baseman Jeremy Isenhower and catcher G.G. Sato have been named to the SAL All-Star Team. The pair will represent the Northern Division squad on June 25th in Lexington, KY.

Isenhower, a 31st round draft pick of the Phillies last year, has been one of the most consistent hitters for Lakewood this season. Despite missing 10 games in late-April and early-May with an upper respiratory infection, Isenhower has batted .268 with three homers and 14 RBI.

First-half highlights for the former Southwest Missouri State standout include a two-homer game at Kannapolis on April 16th, and a stretch of seven consecutive at-bats with a hit, running from April 6-12.

Sato, who missed most of last year with a rotator cuff injury, has rebounded this year with a solid first half. The catcher is batting .270 with three homers and 20 RBI. Sato leads Lakewood with15 doubles, and also has 10 stolen bases.

Sato, a native of Japan who the Phillies signed as a free agent in 2000, already has single-season highs in stolen bases and doubles. Sato is second on the club with ten multi-hit games.

The BlueClaws have had at least two All-Star representatives in each of their first three seasons. First baseman Ryan Howard, shortstop Danny Gonzalez and catcher Ben Margalski made the All-Star team last year as starters when the game was played at FirstEnergy Park. Relief pitchers Trevor Bullock and George Rodriguez played in the mid-season classic in Hickory, NC in 2001.

Lakewood continues a four-game series and ten-game road trip in Salisbury, MD tonight against Delmarva, an Orioles affiliate. First pitch is at 6:35 with coverage on WOBM AM 1160 beginning at 6:20.

The BlueClaws will follow their longest road trip with their longest home stand of the season, June 7-20. Great tickets still are available by calling 732-901-7000 Option 2. For more information on the home stand, go to www.lakewoodblueclaws.com.
