
Two Assigned From AHL Affiliates

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that defenseman Jeremy Van Hoof and right wing Jonathan Tremblay have been assigned to the team by the AHL's Springfield Falcons and Cleveland Barons respectively.
Van Hoof, 23, spent most of last season with the ECHL's Pensacola Ice Pilots where he scored a goal and 15 points in 64 games. He also played five games with the AHL's Hershey Bears. The 6'2, 212 LBS native of Lindsay, Ontario spent the majority of the 2002-03 season and the entire 2001-02 season with Pensacola. In 202 career games with the Ice Pilots, Van Hoof scored 7 goals and 40 points.
Van Hoof played his junior hockey with the Ottawa 67's (OHL) where he was a member of their 1999 Memorial Cup championship team. Van Hoof was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round (57th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry draft. After not signing with Pittsburgh, the Tampa Bay Lightning drafted him in the seventh round (222nd overall) in the 2001 Entry draft.
Tremblay, 20, played in 60 games last season for the Acadie-Bathurst Titans of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he scored 3 goals and a league leading 316 PIM. In 2002-03, the 6'3, 245 LBS native of Fauquier, Ontario appeared in 62 games for Acadie-Bathurst posting an assist and 232 PIM. Tremblay attended San Jose's rookie camp in September and was signed to an AHL contract by the Cleveland Barons on September 22nd. Tremblay was drafted by the Sharks in the seventh round (201st overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
