MONTGOMERY, Ala. - LHP Blake Snell and former Biscuit, Richie Shaffer will play with Team USA in the Future's Game at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati this July.

Snell started the season by throwing 46-straight innings without allowing a run. The streak was three inning shy of matching a modern minor league record. The former first round pick out of Washington started the season with A+ Charlotte before being promoted to the Biscuits in May. He has compiled a 7-2 record with a 1.22 ERA combined between the two levels. Last year, the Rays organizational leader in strikeouts had 153. This season Snell is on pace to finish with more than 170 strikeouts.

Shaffer began the season with the Biscuits where he launched seven home runs and drove in 27 in 39 games. The Rays promoted the former first round pick out of Clemson to AAA Durham in late May where he has now hit nine more home runs in only 18 games. The third-baseman is on pace to crush over 30 home runs this season.

Last year, the Rays were represented by a former and current Biscuit with LHP Enny Romero and C Justin O'Conner, respectively.

The Biscuits will start the second half Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium against the first half champion Chattanooga Lookouts. For tickets call the box office at 334-323-2255 or visit BiscuitsBaseball.com.
