Rochester Honkers News Release
(Rochester, MN) - The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club is thrilled to announce that Thursday's game against the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers will have special guest, Sue Nelson to perform during the game. Nelson is the organist for the Minnesota Twins, and has been performing annually at Honker games for over seven years.
Sue has been the organist for the Twins for over ten seasons and has also played the organ for the Minnesota North Stars and the University of Minnesota men's ice hockey team. Now only about half the teams in the MLB features a live organist.
Sue has toured around the Northwoods League playing at several other ballparks before coming to Rochester for the second-to-last game of the season at Mayo Field for the Honkers. The game will be followed by the final fireworks extravaganza of the season for the Honkers, and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Thursday, August 11, with Sue playing the organ all game.
