Rome, GA - The Rome Braves swept a doubleheader against the Lexington Legends 8-2 and 3-2 Saturday evening at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 3,662.

Lexington took a 1-0 lead in game one on Samir Duenez's run scoring single but Rome tied the contest in the bottom of the inning when Matt Tellor drove home a run with an RBI single. The Braves took the lead 4-1 in the third thanks to an RBI double by Wigberto Nevarez, and a two run home run by Braxton Davidson (8). Rome added four runs in the fourth and held on for the 8-2 win. Braves starter Zach Quintana (4-4) went the distance to get the win scattering eight hits and two runs. Lexington starter Corey Ray (4-6) is tagged with the loss.

Rome scored single runs in the second and fourth innings in game two taking a 2-0 lead. Omar Obregon had a sacrifice fly RBI and Joseph Daris added a single to score a run. The Legends scored twice in the fourth to tie the game on a fielder's choice to score a run and an RBI base hit by Chase Vallot. Rome took the lead for good in the sixth when Tellor reached on a single and Erison Mendez reached first on an error. Stephen Gaylor laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt putting runners at second and third with one out. Obregon then reached on an infield single allowing Tellor to score from third giving the Braves a 3-2 lead. Taylor Lewis came into the game and shutdown Lexington for the final three outs. Felix Marte (1-1) picks up the win while Colin Rodgers (3-8) is handed the loss. Taylor Lewis (2) earns the save.
